Alaska: Fortress of the Bears
On Admiralty Island, brown bears outnumber humans 2 to 1, and competition for food and territory is fierce. For one mother bear, the struggle begins after hibernation, where every moment is spent feeding and protecting her cubs and teaching them the vital lessons they need to survive. For their part, the cubs draw as little attention to themselves as possible--even to the point of playing in complete silence. Over the next 2 years, they’ll stay with her, until it’s time to venture out and find their own place in this ‘fortress of bears’.
